Coverage & honesty report

This page is the ground truth for what this tracker actually contains. No race, roster, portrait or poll number is claimed as complete until it is independently verified against an official source. Exposing coverage gaps is deliberate - it is how you know what is real.

"Contests tracked" is the number of race shells in the database (all 435 U.S. House seats, NY's 63 state-senate and 150 assembly districts, a Senate shell and a governor shell per state, plus specials where modeled). Rows marked "rosters with data" near zero do not mean those races are empty in reality - they mean certified ballot rosters have not been imported yet. The database is structured to fill these counts as verification progresses.

What is genuinely implemented

  • Search & profiles

Fast global search with spelling aliases (including Joey Saban/Saben), office/state/party/incumbency filters, directly addressable candidate and race pages, back/forward and no-results states.

  • Projector view

Blank-by-default 16:9 view, four live cards, per-card enlarge, full-screen map layout, search plus explicit candidate/race selector, selection persists until changed.

  • Interactive maps

Real vector boundaries for the 50 states (Albers USA) and all 62 New York counties, with pan, zoom, reset, fullscreen, hover tooltips and click-to-drill.

  • Polling frames

Sortable poll tables with pollster, field dates, sample, MOE and candidate shares; clearly separates polls from forecasts and votes, and shows 'no verified polling' rather than zeros.

  • Live results scaffold

Official New York results view plus an honest connector status. No feed is claimed connected until an authorized provider is wired; maps show 'no returns' instead of ties.

  • Honest data model

Normalized candidates, contests, ballot lines, statuses and poll sets with stable IDs, provenance and verification dates. Race, roster, portrait and poll coverage is audited and exposed.

Honest data boundaries

This tracker is a working application with a small set of verified 2026 records and a large structured shell for the rest. The 2026 New York governor race (Kathy Hochul and Bruce Blakeman as confirmed general-election candidates, plus Jonathan Makeley and Sofia Fitzgerald flagged pending official-ballot verification), the two candidates you named (Joey Cohen-Saban - Assembly District 45, and Sam Sutton - State Senate District 22) and the NY governor poll leads are modeled with cited sources and a 2026-11-01 verification date. Every U.S. House seat, U.S. Senate contest, other governor race, and the remaining NY state-legislative districts are present as race shells whose rosters are marked "Not yet verified" until an official source is imported. Nothing is invented: no fabricated candidates, biography, poll method figures, portraits or vote totals, and any demo or seed data is excluded from what you see.

AP embedding access

Not confirmed. AP map/result embeds require a licensed graphics or provider embed, or an API feed. No such authorized access exists in this project, and no frame was shipped on the assumption of permission. To enable the AP view, obtain an authorized embed/access URL and connect it in the Live Results connector.

Fox map embedding access

Not confirmed. Fox map-specific framing permission and a usable public embed were not verified, and their terms do not support treating any found public URL as an embed granted to this site. No Fox frame is shipped. An accurate "embed unavailable" state is shown instead of a fake map or a link dressed as an embed.
